Reduce, reuse, recycle

03.10.2017Kate ShopperContent creation, Marketing, Technology marketing

We are reminded time and time again that we need to do our bit to save the environment. Reduce, reuse, recycle. So why not do the same for marketing content?

When it comes to content marketing, often the greatest challenge is how to generate regular, meaningful content. The simple solution: use what you’ve already got.  RECYCLE. Reworking and reshaping your existing content and molding it into something shiny and new to be used in an alternate marketing channel.

Recycling content isn’t going to save the world and lead to cleaner air and oceans, but it will, save you an incredible amount of time, money and resources, as well as increase your ROI on content creation.

The key is to map out your content assets and see at what stages you can effectively reuse and repurpose content. Existing content may just need tweaking, and can simply be reused and repromoted.

Blog posts can be used as content for newsletters. A video/vlog can be turned into a podcast. Event reports from the sales team can be turned into blog posts and Tweets.

Other green ideas

  • Customer comments, questions and replies can all give you clues as to what is important to your audience as well as helping to form ideas for blog topics, featured in newsletters and feature across multiple platforms
  • Infographics are a great way of presenting and breaking up content in a visual manner

Don’t disregard any content large or small. It is all treasured and can still be used to add value to new campaigns.

At FMXA, we’ll strategically analyse your existing content to create bespoke and agile campaigns. Contact us to find out how.
